We are all about brilliant beef, bountiful biodiversity and trying to produce plenty of both.

Who we are

Andy Rumming's Beef

The Rumming family have been farming cattle on the banks of the the Thames at Waterhay near Cirencester for over 60 years.  We provide the highest possible animal welfare which together with the grass fed diet produce superior beef.  We are proud to farm species rich flood plain meadows which contain Snakehead Fritillaries, why not come and see them and meet the cows on one of our farm walks?

Our beef is hung on the bone for a month to give the best flavour and texture, and then expertly butchered by us in our state of the art small on farm butchery.  We have regular collection mornings where you can come to the farm and collect your meat fresh or frozen.

What we stand for

Our mission

Our mission is to produce excellent beef thats full of flavour, tender and extremely enjoyable to eat. Underpinning this is a serious commitment to animal welfare, creating biodiversity at scale, and minimising our environmental footprint. So what does this actually mean? Selecting animals to process that fit a strict specification, aging the meat in house, butchering really carefully in house. It means keeping animals in family groups, out at pasture for as much of the year as we can. Not using wormers or pour on fly treatments. Treating them with respect as valued members of our farm at all times. Grazing them on a wide range of natural plants (including 10km of hedges to browse), over winter feeding them species rich hay from some of the most important meadows in the UK. Monitoring biodiversity and trying to improve this every year. Investing in renewable energy - the majority of our energy that runs our butchery and fridges is from solar, we are currently installing a rainwater harvesting system to capture 800,000 litres of water for our cows. We have 2 biomass boilers that provide all our heating and hot water for our farmhouses.
