Our farm, listed in the Doomsday Book, sits on ancient Culm grassland meadows nestled in a hidden and beautiful Devon valley within the UNESCO North Devon Biosphere. We are a certified organic, regenerative farm dedicated to producing high-quality, pasture-fed beef and lamb. Our Red Ruby Cattle and hardy Lleyn sheep are raised on diverse herbal leys and permanent pasture, supporting soil health, biodiversity, and animal welfare. We farm in harmony with nature, without artificial inputs, delivering nutrient-dense meat with full traceability from field to fork. In addition to rotational grazing, we also focus on hedge and bank restoration and agroforestry.

As old as the hills

The farm has restored biodiverse wildflower meadows in Devon, increasing from a poor baseline to 15 species per m² in just five years, a testament to nature’s recovery through careful management.

Taste Essebeare

Our Ruby Red and Hereford cattle graze on rich, natural pastures managed in harmony with the environment, supporting habitats for insects, birds, and plants. They roam freely and are carefully butchered on-site in our solar-powered micro butchery.

Rewind farming

We are looking back to go forward. Building back better biodiversity in the shape of rich diverse meadows, woodland pastures and thick generous hedges that feed and hide birds and mammals.
