Jane's Farm UK
A small sized but big-hearted farm that rears great tasting native breed beef whilst increasing the biodiversity, health and beauty of the land.
Who we are
Jane Oglesby and Steven Simcock
The farm is 200 acres in the beautiful plains of Cheshire. Over 30 years it has grown from a dream and a single cow, to a suckler herd of 130 outdoor-reared cattle and a beef business. We sell boxes direct to the public, and in half carcasses to some of the best restaurants in Manchester.

About us
Jane's Farm UK
A long journey to where we are today
Nearly 30 years ago I set off to grow nutritious meat to feed my young children. With not much of a clue, 4 acres, one cow and a friendly farmer next door; I grew to 200 acres and 130 cattle that Ste Simcock, the friendly farmer's son, now cares for
Nature will ultimately heal
The current farm was previously intensive dairy land. We used the cattle to graze it; tried hard not to 'fix stuff' and trusted that nature would have a solution. It did.

What we stand for
We believe that our cattle are more than just a food source; they are a force for good and are healing our land. We let nature feed our suckler herd and keep them healthy and by doing so, we now have a noisy, beautiful, nature-rich farm.
When we took the land on the soil was, by every conventional measure, failing. We used the cattle to heal the soil; to regenerate it. Nature has self-corrected the damage that the intensive farming had done. We have deeper soil, richer soil, and soil that holds the rain water. We produce highly nutritious tasty beef and we have plants and animal life that weren't here before.
