Megs Farm is located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, James farms the land with his Dad and is supported by wife Amy and Children Elkie & Ned. Our farm has a small amount of land within the village of Long Preston but most of our land is hill land about 2 miles from the village, it sits at about a 1000ft. our hill land is where the Belted Galloway cows live all year, they live with no inputs other than our glorious grass, we calve the cows from June onwards, they are usually 3 years before they go to the bull. All our cows are registered if good enough and our aim is to sell hardy females and boxed beef. Our beef boxes will range from 3 years up to 13 years, this will be some of our best beef from cows that have had great lives. We also have Swaledale and Herdwick sheep which live mostly on our hill land, they are not fully pasture fed yet but we are moving towards this over the next few years.

All our animals are cared for and treat with the upmost dignity at all stages of their life, this is a really important part of what we do at Megs Farm. We welcome anyone for a visit to see what we do and hope you enjoy our produce in any form that it comes.
