Romania Study Trip

Romania Study Tour 2026

Pasture for Life is organising another study tour to the wildflower meadows and unique Saxon villages of Transylvania this June, including the communal grazing initiative in Viscri, a UNESCO world heritage site where King Charles has a house. This will be a unique opportunity to witness meadows and grazing systems which have now become very rare; providing insight for how we manage our grasslands in the UK.

What does it include?

This is a chance to learn more about the wider context of farming in Romania, together with some heritage and cultural experiences. For an idea of what to expect, find out what we did back on our first visit in 2023.

The tour will be led by regenerative farming coach and mentor, Russ Carrington.

This year, there will be two week-long tours of 16 people (including travel time) - 6th-13th June and 13th-20th June 2026.

The groups will be evenly split between Pasture for Life farmer members and attendees from the Wildlife Trusts, which we hope will inspire rich discussion and future collaboration.
